My name is Duncan, and this blog is all about my creative passions — urban gardening, menswear sewing, food and a whole host of artsy experiments.
I love making things and learning new creative skills. I have been sewing since 2014 after a childhood obsession with Project Runway led me to take a part-time clothesmaking course. Since then I’ve appeared on The Great British Sewing Bee and I now blog regularly for Minerva’s Blogger Network.
I also come from a family of allotment and veg plot enthusiasts but I was never that interested in gardening until recently. I have always lived in cities since leaving school so never had a garden to play with, but in 2017 I started container planting on my city balcony. I’ve had successes, failures and lots of tasty meals courtesy of the wee garden.
I’ve recently bought a flat with a garden in the suburbs of London, and I’m in the process of doing that up and taking on my first real garden project!
I love quiet time too – I meditate, relax as much as possible and most of what I read is centred around mindfulness and self-improvement, with the occasional biography and fiction thrown in there for a bit of escapism!
So I hope you enjoy reading about some of my favourite hobbies, and please do leave comments on any posts that interest you.
